ACHIEVEMENTS
The future of our nation lies on our youths' values and the opportunities that are provided to them. It is therefore vital that we teach them the principles of optimism and self-esteem. They have to learn to respect life and nature. We must also prepare them to assume the responsibilities they will have to face as young adults.
CANADIAN SECTION
The mission of the Canadian section of the "General Roméo Dallaire Foundation" is to allow underprivileged, immigrant or refugee youths to live a fulfilling experience in a Canadian summer camp. Located in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec, this camp makes it possible for youths, who often go through difficult situations in their social environment, to live positive experiences, thus broadening their outlook so they can achieve a better personal development. Over 340 underprivileged children have had a beneficial stay in a camp since the Foundation was established.
Donations make it possible for the children to take part in outdoor activities in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec while they learn the fundamental values of responsible citizenship.
Every year, as the Foundation grows in size, more summertime activities are planned. With your support, we will keep on reaching our goals.
RWANDA SECTION
The mission of the Rwandan section, established in 2004, is to support Rwandan children who have suffered from the 1994 civil war and genocide. This genocide has left almost 500,000 orphan children, who need a special aid that will help them develop sound bodies, minds, souls and social selves.
Donations specifically intended for this intervention section are used to support specific projects. Through existing non-government organizations and religious congregations, the Foundation provides funding for many orphanages, didactic material and schools, as well as its support to other operations.
Your support will enable us to keep reaching our difficult objectives in Rwanda.
